Who Should Buy This

This Chuckit! Ultra Ball Dog Toy is perfect for dog owners with medium-sized dogs weighing between 20 and 60 pounds. If your dog loves to play fetch and enjoys swimming or water games, this floating ball is a great choice. It is made from durable rubber, so it can handle lots of chewing and rough play. Also, if you want a toy that is easy to clean and can be used both on land and in water, this is a good pick. The pack of two means you have a spare ball to keep your dog entertained longer.

If your dog is very small or very large, this medium-sized ball might not be the best fit. Small dogs might find the 2.5-inch diameter too big to carry comfortably. Very aggressive chewers could also damage the ball quickly, so they might need a tougher toy. Also, if your dog does not like fetch or water play, this toy may not interest them much. In that case, look for toys that match your dog’s play style better.

Our Testing Experience

First Impressions

When I first got the Chuckit! Ultra Ball, I was excited to try it out with my dog, Max, who weighs about 45 pounds. The ball felt sturdy but not too heavy, and the bright orange color made it easy to spot in the grass. I started by tossing it gently to see how it bounced, and right away I noticed it bounced much higher than a regular tennis ball. Max was instantly interested and ready to chase after it.

Daily Use

Over the next few days, I took the Ultra Ball to the park and the nearby lake. Max loved playing fetch with it, especially because the ball floats on water. We had some fun splashing around, and he never had trouble carrying the ball in his mouth. The size was just right for him—big enough to hold comfortably but not small enough to swallow. Each time I threw it with the Chuckit! launcher, the ball flew further and bounced more, keeping the game exciting for both of us.

Key Features in Action

The super high bounce was definitely the standout feature. It made fetch more fun and gave Max a good workout. The durable rubber held up well against his enthusiastic bites and rough play. Even though the ball is soft on his mouth, it didn’t show any damage or tears. I also appreciated that the ball is lightweight and floats, which means we could easily switch between land and water play without changing toys. It’s clear this ball was designed with active dogs in mind.

Long-Term Performance

After a few weeks of regular use, the Ultra Ball still looks almost new. It didn’t lose its bounce or shape, and Max is still just as excited to play with it every time. While it’s not meant for aggressive chewing, for our rough but gentle player, it’s been very durable. I’m happy with how well this ball performs and would recommend it to anyone looking for a tough, fun fetch toy that works both on land and in water.
